Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 30, 2026
This policy explains how SwingGrabber collects, uses, shares, and retains information when you use the SwingGrabber iPhone app, website, cloud account features, and Swing Assistant.
Information We Collect
- Account information: email address, username, display name, password hash, verification status, and account status.
- Swing content: videos and selected video frames, thumbnails, tags, camera angle, club type, timestamps, annotations, and swing metrics that you choose to upload or sync.
- Swing Assistant content: selected swing frames, questions and practice context you provide, generated reports, follow-up conversations, and related model and processing information.
- Security and technical information: refresh sessions, device or client type, IP address, browser or app information, request paths, response status, and timing information used to operate and protect the service.
- Waitlist and support information: email address, signup source, browser information, a hashed IP address, and information you include in support messages.
Information That Stays on Your Device
SwingGrabber does not collect videos or other content that remains only on your device. Information is sent to SwingGrabber when you choose an account, cloud sync, upload, support, or Swing Assistant feature that requires it.
How We Use Information
- Provide capture, replay, storage, synchronization, annotation, comparison, and account features.
- Generate Swing Assistant reports and respond to follow-up questions you choose to submit.
- Authenticate users, prevent abuse, investigate errors, secure accounts, and maintain service reliability.
- Send account and service communications and respond to support or privacy requests.
- Manage requests for iPhone early access.
- Understand website traffic and usage patterns so we can improve the SwingGrabber website and early-access funnel.
Website Analytics
SwingGrabber uses Google Analytics on the website to measure page visits, referral information, device and browser information, and interactions such as early-access requests. This helps us understand website usage and improve the website experience.
Swing Assistant and AI Providers
When you request a Swing Assistant analysis, SwingGrabber may send selected frames from the swing, relevant swing metadata, your question or practice context, and prior report or conversation content to an AI service provider. Depending on the configured service, that provider may be OpenAI or Google Gemini. The provider processes this information to produce the requested report or response and may temporarily retain it for service operation, safety, and abuse prevention under its applicable business or API terms.
SwingGrabber stores the resulting report and conversation with your account so you can return to it. Swing Assistant output may be incomplete or inaccurate and is not professional golf, medical, or fitness advice.
How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to provide and protect SwingGrabber, including with:
- Service providers that support cloud hosting, storage, database operations, and email delivery.
- AI processing providers when you choose to use Swing Assistant, including OpenAI or Google.
- Professional advisers, authorities, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate abuse, or defend legal rights.
We do not sell personal information or use swing content for cross-app behavioral advertising. Service providers are expected to protect information and process it only for the services they provide to us.
Account and service emails may include email verification, password reset, account deletion confirmation, and security notices. If you request iPhone early access, we may also email you about that request and the early-access program. You can ask us to remove your waitlist entry at any time.
Retention
- Account content, uploaded swing content, completed AI reports, conversations, and associated selected frames are generally retained while your account remains active or until you delete the applicable content or account.
- Failed or incomplete upload artifacts are normally removed after a limited cleanup period. Current defaults are approximately seven days for failed video uploads and 24 hours for frames associated with failed or timed-out AI analyses.
- Waitlist information is retained for the early-access program or until you ask us to remove it.
- Security logs, support correspondence, deletion records, and limited operational records may be retained as reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance, and service operation.
- Service providers may retain information according to their applicable business terms, legal obligations, and abuse-prevention requirements.
Account Deletion
You can initiate permanent account deletion from the account settings in the iPhone app or contact support@swinggrabber.com. Account deletion removes cloud videos, thumbnails, annotations, tags, swing records, AI reports and selected frame artifacts, account sessions, and direct account identifiers from active use. A limited tombstoned account record and security, audit, provider, or legally required records may remain for the purposes described above.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices
You can choose whether to create an account, upload swing content, join the early-access list, or request a Swing Assistant analysis. You may request access, correction, waitlist removal, or deletion by contacting us. Camera, photo-library, and similar device permissions can be managed in iOS Settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as SwingGrabber changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when appropriate.
